Overview
NomNom helps you track meals, hydration, weight, movement, habits, mood, fasting, goals, and related progress. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
NomNom is a wellness and nutrition tracking app. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Information You Provide
- Account information such as your email address, sign-in provider, display name, and avatar preferences.
- Profile and goal information such as age or birth date, sex, height, weight, target weight, nutrition goals, activity level, and preferred units.
- Diary information such as foods, meals, water, exercise, mood, fasting, habits, reminders, notes, recipes, and progress entries.
- Photos you choose to add, including meal photos, scanner photos, nutrition label photos, and progress photos.
- Subscription and entitlement status used to decide which NomNom features are available to your account.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device and app information needed to keep the app working, such as app version, platform, basic diagnostics, and crash or error details when available.
- Local app preferences such as theme, font, notification preferences, widget settings, and feature settings.
- Health data only when you connect Apple Health or Android Health Connect and grant permission. This may include steps, active calories, sleep, heart rate, weight, and body fat percentage depending on the permissions you approve.
Photos and Food Scanning
When you use barcode scanning, food photo recognition, or nutrition label scanning, NomNom may process the barcode, photo, or label image to identify food and estimate nutrition. Food photo and label recognition may use third-party AI processing providers to return nutrition estimates.
Scanner and AI results can be incomplete or incorrect. You should review and edit entries before relying on them.
Google User Data
When you sign in with Google, NomNom uses Google user data to create or access your NomNom account and keep you signed in. This may include your Google account email address, name, profile image, ID token, and access token.
If you choose to connect Google Drive backup, NomNom requests the drive.file permission so it can create and manage NomNom backup files in your Drive, including meal photos, progress photos, and related backup metadata that you choose to back up. NomNom cannot browse your full Google Drive and only accesses files it creates or files you select for use with NomNom.
NomNom uses Google user data only to provide sign-in, account authentication, and optional Google Drive backup and restore features. We do not sell Google user data, share it with advertisers, or use it for unrelated purposes.
How We Use Information
- Provide the food diary, dashboard, progress, reminders, goals, widgets, scanner, and sync features.
- Calculate nutrition targets, calorie estimates, macros, hydration progress, trends, and habit summaries.
- Save and sync your account data across devices when you are signed in.
- Maintain subscriptions, trials, premium access, account security, abuse prevention, and customer support.
- Improve reliability, debug issues, and understand which features need product attention.
Service Providers
NomNom may use service providers to operate the app, including Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and server functions; Apple and Google for platform sign-in, app distribution, in-app purchase, and health-permission surfaces; Open Food Facts and USDA data sources for food lookup; and AI providers such as OpenAI for food-photo or label analysis when those features are used.
These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to NomNom and are subject to their own security and privacy terms.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your health or nutrition data with advertisers. We may share information when needed to provide the app, comply with law, protect rights and safety, process purchases, or complete actions you request.
Storage, Retention, and Deletion
Signed-in account data may be stored in NomNom cloud systems until you delete it or close your account. Some photos and entries can also be stored locally on your device.
You can delete today's scan photos in Settings. You can delete your account in Settings, which removes your NomNom account and associated app data. Some limited records may be retained if required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or store transaction records.
